By installing the FIBYC Chrome extension or using this website, you agree to these terms. They're written in plain English on purpose.
1. What FIBYC is
FIBYC is a free browser extension that reads publicly visible product information on retailer websites and displays an ingredient safety score, alerts, and suggested alternative products. FIBYC is provided by the operator of fibyc.ai.
2. Information, not medical or legal advice
FIBYC's safety scores are based on publicly available data from regulatory and scientific bodies (CosIng, IARC, NTP, ECHA, Prop 65, Open Food Facts, Open Beauty Facts). The scores are intended to help you make informed shopping decisions; they are not medical advice, dietary advice, allergy guidance, or legal compliance information.
A high score does not guarantee that a product is safe for you personally. A low score does not mean a product is illegal or dangerous in all uses. If you have a known allergy, sensitivity, medical condition, or pregnancy concern, please consult the actual product label and a qualified professional.
3. Accuracy
We do our best to keep FIBYC's ingredient database accurate and up to date, but ingredient lists change, retailers occasionally publish incorrect labels, and scientific consensus evolves. FIBYC is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that FIBYC will be error-free or uninterrupted.
4. Affiliate links
FIBYC contains affiliate links. When you click certain links and make a purchase, FIBYC may earn a commission. This is disclosed inside the extension and explained in detail in our Affiliate Disclosure.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or republish FIBYC's ingredient database for commercial use without permission;
- Use FIBYC to violate any applicable law, including consumer-protection or unfair-competition laws;
- Use FIBYC to harass, defame, or make false claims about a brand or product;
- Attempt to interfere with the extension's normal operation or compromise its security.
6. Intellectual property
The FIBYC name, logo, design, and curated ingredient database are the property of FIBYC. The ingredient data is sourced from third parties under their respective licenses (Open Food Facts and Open Beauty Facts data are available under the Open Database License; regulatory data is in the public domain). Brand names mentioned in FIBYC are the property of their respective owners and are referenced for informational purposes only.
7. Third-party content
FIBYC links to third-party retailers, regulatory databases, and reference articles. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, policies, or availability of those third parties. Visiting them is at your own discretion.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, FIBYC and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of, or inability to use, the extension or the website — including but not limited to allergic reactions, illness, financial loss, or lost shopping carts.
9. Changes to FIBYC
We may update, modify, or discontinue any feature of FIBYC at any time. Material changes to these Terms will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
10. Termination
You can stop using FIBYC at any time by removing the extension from Chrome. We may, in extreme cases, restrict or terminate access for users who violate these Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of the operator's home jurisdiction, except where local consumer-protection law gives you stronger rights.
