FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

If your question isn't here, write to info@fibyc.ai — we answer everything.

Is FIBYC really free?
Yes. The Chrome extension is free to install and free to use forever. No paid tier, no in-app purchases, no premium ingredients. FIBYC pays for itself through affiliate commissions when you choose to buy a recommended alternative through one of our links — explained in detail in our Affiliate Disclosure.
What sites does FIBYC work on?
The major beauty, food, and lifestyle retailers across the web. If a site you use isn't supported, write us and we'll look at adding it.
What does the 1–100 score mean?
Higher is safer. 100 is excellent, 1 means seriously concerning. The score is built on official scientific and regulatory data, not on beauty rankings or sponsored reviews.
What data does FIBYC collect about me?
FIBYC asks for the minimum it needs to provide the service. Our Privacy Policy describes the current data practices in detail. As the product evolves, that page will always reflect what we collect — and you'll be told and asked for consent before anything new is added.
How does FIBYC make money?
When you buy a recommended alternative through one of FIBYC's links, the retailer pays us a small commission. You pay the same price you would have paid anyway. This is how we keep FIBYC free without ads. We never accept money to change a product's score or to add a brand to our recommendation list. Full disclosure: Affiliate Disclosure.
Why does FIBYC sometimes show "Not Disclosed"?
Sometimes there isn't enough information available to score a product fairly. When that happens, FIBYC tells you so instead of inventing a number. The best move is to check the physical product label or contact the brand directly.
How do you choose the "safer alternatives"?
Primarily by safety score and product fit. The list is curated by hand. If a recommendation in the extension is ever a sponsored placement, it will be clearly labeled "Sponsored."
What about food allergies?
FIBYC's safety scoring is about ingredient toxicity, not personal allergens. A product with a high FIBYC score can still contain something you're allergic to. Always read the actual product label if you have a known allergy, sensitivity, or medical condition. (Seriously — our scores are not a substitute for the label.)
Is FIBYC affiliated with any other ingredient app?
No. FIBYC is independent.
Will there be a Safari / Firefox / mobile version?
Possibly, in the future. Right now we're focused on making the Chrome version excellent. If a particular platform matters to you, write us.
How do I report a bug or suggest an ingredient?
Email info@fibyc.ai with as much detail as possible: the URL of the product page, what you expected to see, and what you actually saw. Screenshots help a lot. We read every email.
How do I uninstall FIBYC?
In Chrome: open chrome://extensions, find FIBYC, click Remove. All your local data goes with it. We're sorry to see you go — if there's a reason, we'd love to hear it.
